A sweet post for a sweet couple.  The day started out overcast with some sprinkles.  But by the time we headed outside after the ceremony it was sunny and bright and not a rain cloud in site.  Greg and Stephanie certainly had some special people watching over their day as the day was perfect!

Nick and Marla absolutely rocked their day!  We started out the day out with them seeing each other before the ceremony.   I know that isn't everyones "cup of tea" and I certainly don't push on anyone but I way that I have only seen it add to couples days with no one being disappointed in their "first look!"  

We had smiles, laughs and smiles all day long.  Nick and Marla's easy going vibe added to the relaxed and candid nature of their photos.  Just being themselves and making each other laugh made their photo sessions super relaxed, fast and fun as well.

Marla had been also cooking up a little surprise for Nick for a few years now.  Nick and his friends back in the day used to "ICE" each other with Smirnoff Ice drinks.  Basically if you got your buddy to touch a Smirnoff Ice they had to drink it immediately.  During the reception at the Sheraton in Madison, Marla had the fantastic idea of tricking Nick into being "Iced" during the garter toss.  See the photos below and the slideshow to see how the surprise worked out!

I would like to take a moment to celebrate my awesome parents on their 40th WEDDING ANNIVERSARY!!!!
Their humor, honesty, trust, devotion, and commitment to family has been an amazing example for us and I am so LUCKY to call them my parents.  Thank you for loving us and loving each other so well.  Your example gives us hope that our 7 years of marriage can grow into 41!

.pat & jenny. New Years Eve Wedding, Chicago, IL Wedding Photographer

JOY!  Pure JOY is the world that describes Pat & Jenny and their wedding day.  What an amazing time to celebrate them with all of our friends over new years eve weekend.  I adore Pat & Jenny and was honored to shoot their fantastic day downtown Chicago.  

The wedding ceremony was at Holy Name Cathedral with the reception and dance party at The Renaissance Hotel.  We also dropped by the Waldorf Astoria and Nellcote for some awesome location for pictures.  The Nellcote was such a great spot to stop at for a cocktail and some fun shots. 

The love and joy that encompassed their celebration was out of control.  I heard one guest say, "This is EPIC!"  Yep, epic is the perfect description.  I don't remember seeing that many smiles and genuine laughs in one day in a long time.  

Thank you Pat & Jenny for including us in your celebration and friendship.  We are so pumped to have such awesome friends.  Love you, Em
