.being loved. Grama Reichert

What a blessing it has been to have grown up with such an awesome Grandmother.  It is with a grateful heart that Grama when home last week at the age of 102.  We celebrated her this last weekend.  Thank you for understanding and allowing me the time to be with my family.  It was clear from all the tears and laughs that we had that she had a long life and was loved deeply.
Here are some of Grams famous lines:
.Keep on Keeping on!
.Eat, Eat, Eat!
.Love you to pieces and glue you back together.
.I love you a bushel and a peck, a bushel and a peck and a hug around the neck
.Love me, love my dog!
.I'm so hungry I could eat a horse and chase the driver.
.If you don't do it right the first time, when will you have time to do it over?
.Oh, Crum!
.If I only have this much room in heaven, I'll be happy.

I'm confident that Gram has more room in heaven than she could of ever imagined.  I am so thankful that she was mine and that she loved us so much.  Thank you for instilling love, faith, strength, and laughter into our home.
Here are some photo's from her most recent birthdays.  At 102nd birthday, even though her eyes were closed she could still sing her favorite songs, tap her feet to the music and eat cake!  Save me a spot Gram!

.jenny & tim. Hawyard, WI wedding photographer

Who knew that a simple bike purchase from Tim would turn into a marriage?  What a great celebration of love and joy last weekend in Hayward, WI.  A simple but lovely ceremony at Spider Lake Church and a big celebration at Spider Lake Lodge topped off this perfect day.  What a joy it was to witness such love.  Once again Over the Top Entertainment got the party rockin' and boy was there some dancing!  I hope the honeymoon destination was as great as the wedding.  Thanks again for all the fun.  All the best,  Em

hair candy product, handmade hair accessories, fabric ideas

I just found out about this awesome product hand made by Anne Erickson called "Hair Candy."  Anne makes each piece special and then sends them in the mail.  Super easy and super cute!
The pieces pictured here are made by her from fabric left over from my wedding dress.  I had extra from alterations (I'm short!) and didn't know what to do with the extra.  I sent the fabric to her and this is what she created for me.  I am in love with my new hair pieces and thought I would share.  What a perfect way to reuse any fabric that is special to you.  What about a bridesmaids or wedding dress, a piece of grandmas favorite shirt, or grandpa's hanky.  There are some many different things you could do.
Please check out Hair Candy or call Anne to come up with your very own hair treat!  www.etsy.com/shop/scherffa  651.724.7002
Thanks Anne, I love my new Hair Candy!

mr. henry, Minneapolis portrait photographer

Meet Mr. Henry!  What a bundle of joy he was to work with last Saturday.  With only a few accidents  (that happens when you take off the diaper) he pulled off some adorableness without even trying!  I worked with his parents for their big day in Duluth and am thrilled to be capturing more special moments for them.  Thank you for including me in with your growing family.  Cheers to the three of you.  Em

get your nails done!!!! "Shelack" in Stevens Point

Ever get your nails done and not 2 seconds after leaving the salon you nick or chip the paint?  I have a solution for you.  It's called "Shellac" and you can actually get it done in Stevens Point, WI with Sara at The Difference.  715.252.8071
Shellac is so awesome and it is now the only way I want a manicure.  For the same price of a regular manicure you can have perfect, hard nail polish, that lasts for up to two weeks, immediately after leaving the salon.  The Shellac isn't a gel or acrylic nail.  It is a polish that is painted on and dries before you leave the salon.  And I mean dries!  None of this waiting for an hour and still chipping a nail when you get in the car!
Please note, I am not a hand model.  I was however a bride and when I had a manicure the day before the wedding I was hoping my nails would look awesome for our pictures.  But once again, they chipped even before I made it to the rehearsal dinner.  Ugghh!  Now you can prevent that hassle with Shellac.  Get your nails done 4 days before the big day and still have beautiful nails the day of the wedding.
Call Sara at The Difference 715.252.8071 and try it out.  You wont be disappointed.
Ps.  She has all different colors, not just French tips.

gone fishin! photographer, Cable, WI

Every year I donate a portrait session to a fabulous winner for the Northwoods Humane Society fundraiser, Cause for Paws.  Kelly and Bruce were the lucky winners this year.  I have to say I didn't know what to expect when pulling into a house of 3 dogs, but just like with kids portraits ... you just capture what they will give you.
Turns out these 3 like to fish.  Countless hours are spent in the lake fishing and playing frisbee.  I adore dogs and it was such a pleasure watching these 3 play around in the water.  Thank you so much for supporting the Northwoods Humane Society!  Three cheers (or woofs) to you!!!
