JOY!  Pure JOY is the world that describes Pat & Jenny and their wedding day.  What an amazing time to celebrate them with all of our friends over new years eve weekend.  I adore Pat & Jenny and was honored to shoot their fantastic day downtown Chicago.  

The wedding ceremony was at Holy Name Cathedral with the reception and dance party at The Renaissance Hotel.  We also dropped by the Waldorf Astoria and Nellcote for some awesome location for pictures.  The Nellcote was such a great spot to stop at for a cocktail and some fun shots. 

The love and joy that encompassed their celebration was out of control.  I heard one guest say, "This is EPIC!"  Yep, epic is the perfect description.  I don't remember seeing that many smiles and genuine laughs in one day in a long time.

The word that comes to mind as I edit each image of Heather and Joe's wedding day is JOY!  Their love for each other and the friends and family that they were surrounded with all day made working with them one of the best days of work ever.  Every time the wedding party jumped out of the limo I was in full giggles because they were so much fun.  They made a day of work feel like a day of hanging out with friends.  Right down to the flower girl sitting in the middle of the aisle during the ceremony, everyone was themselves and super fun!  (see below)
The only unfortunate part of the day is that there was some rain.  As you can see it didn't hamper the images at all.  We just had to wait it out a little.  The neatest part is that just as we were driving by this great field the sun popped out and we were blessed with some gorgeous light for 5 minutes.  I have a feeling that Heather & Joe's special guardians pulled some strings to make this awesomeness happen.

It's not every wedding that I get to see my dear friend get married.  Amanda and I have known each other since before kindergarden.  We took our first bus ride together.  We played Barbies, memorized each others phone numbers, played with crawfish in the backyard, and started our 25 year friendship.  I still can't believe that we have known each other for so long.  What an awesome friendship.    

When I met Darrin and saw him interact with Amanda I knew it was LOVE.  Someone that adores my friend and can make her smile like this is a keeper in my book.  Their sarcasm and silliness match perfectly.  

I'm so grateful that I could be a part of their day.  A new chapter for Amanda and Darrin's love story and a new chapter in our friendship!

Love you both.  Many many CHEERS to many more years!  Em
