.amy & ryan. Milwaukee & Wisconsin Rapids, WI Milwaukee Wedding Photographer

Happy days x 2 = Joy Joy Joy!
For the couple that wants the best of both worlds, this is an idea for you.  Amy & Ryan were married in Milwaukee at the court house in a beautiful private service with their two best friends.  They wanted it to be mellow, simple, easy and joy filled.  They got exactly what they were looking for!  After the judge made it official we cruised around Milwaukee to capture their joy in their favorite city.  This was the absolute best.  It gave them great images in great locations under no stress, just fun.  They then went back to their house and had a small picnic in the backyard.
A few months later they had a church ceremony in Wisconsin Rapids to celebrate their commitment to each other with their families present.  For a second time they had a beautiful day and great locations for pictures.  The reception that they held for family and friends was the best part.  Amy worked tirelessly to create an art gallery of images from their wedding day in Milwaukee to share with everyone.  Her design and detail was awesome as she totally made the Ridges into an art gallery.  It was their way of bringing some of their favorite pieces of Milwaukee to Wisconsin Rapids.  Watch the slideshow at the end to see the best of both days.
Congrats Amy and Ryan!  What great celebrations.  Thank you for including me.  All the best, Em

.bakkum family. Minneapolis, MN Minneapolis Portrait Photography

Meet the Bakkum family.  We met up downtown Minneapolis for some brick walls and urban vibe on a beautiful Tuesday morning.  I would usually post more pictures from our session but being that Christmas cards are right around the corner I'm going to keep my family posts short as to not give away all family surprises.
Great seeing the four of you again.  The kids are adorable!  All the best,  Em

.kaylee & rich. Minocqua, WI Madison Wedding Photographer

This is northern Wisconsin on a beautiful fall day!  As I continued driving north it kept getting better and better!  The colors were just on fire.
And then I met up with Kaylee and Rich and it continued to get better.  We went to Rich's family cabin where they were engaged on the pouch.  What a great place to capture them being themselves and hanging out!
We then went walking through the woods to capture some more colors and look who joined us!!!  A black bear.  Predictions are that the bear was about 3 years old.  We locked eyes for a few minutes.  We all stood very still.  I then took a step left, of course to get a better angle to take a picture of Mr. Bear, and he ran.   As cool as it was to see him in person, we all took a big deep breath after he ran!  Funny enough this was the second time I had bear join in for a shoot.  During my sisters wedding we had a grizzly bear and her cub walk down the stream during the reception.  Both times my heart was pumping, although the grizzly was the much more dangerous situation.
Thank you for sharing your cabin with me.  What an incredible place you have to make many more memories.  Cheers, Em

.jandrain family. Madison portrait photographer

What a great afternoon we had with the Jandrain's and their extended family in Madison.  We hopped around to a few spots in town and got some awesome group and individual shots.  I adore working with this crew and am shocked every year when I see the kids and how much they have grown and changed!  I mean could these kids get any cuter!?!
Thank you for including me in this day of fun!  All the best, Em
