Here is Carl & Carly on a beautiful day in Northfield on the St. Olaf campus to warm them up for their upcoming wedding.  Most couples haven't done a lot of photo shoots before so having a pre shoot can get comfortable with the camera is key.  It is also nice to get some great images in your "normal" or casual cloths!  Thank you for taking me down to St. Olaf for some fun.  What a great backdrop and location.  Can't wait for your big day!  Here we come Bayfield, WI!

I met up with Tony and Lisa in St. Paul back at the very location where they were engaged.  It was a beautiful afternoon to capture them hanging out and being themselves at one of their favorite places.  I love getting to know a couple while shooting their engagements.  These shoots are such a great way for a couple to get comfortable in front of the camera and perfect for me to get to know them better!  It also lets the couple see what kind of backdrops and settings they like so I can set up exactly what they want on the wedding day.

What an awesome pleasure it was to shoot with Jeff & Jenny.  I am always humbled when friends ask me to be their photographer.  We were given a beautiful fall afternoon with the sun popping just when we needed it to and the clouds to give us shade to give us perfect lighting.  I'm thrilled we were able to coordinate the shoot so quickly to get them a fall backdrop that they were looking for.  Happy happy joy joy is what I feel when I look at these images.  Cheers to you both and man congrats!!!  Love, Em

It was a beautiful fall day when I met up with Peter and Sara and their lovely puppy for their engagement shoot.  What a perfect day we had as the weather has now turned quickly to cold and winter coats.   I adore this couple, but I have to say, their dog is pretty AWESOME too!  Some of these shots with her made me laugh right out loud.  Some of the ways she looks at the lens I swear she is saying, "Yep, check me out.  These people LOVE ME!  I'm a lucky dog."
I can't wait for Peter and Sara's big day in February.  It's going to rock!  All the best, Em

I met Alison and Ryan downtown Milwaukee for their engagement shoot.  As it has been true to form all season, it POURED rain all day before we were going to start.  When I say rain, I mean "cats and dogs" kind of rain.  Our back up was to move our locations inside.  Not a big deal, just a change of plan.  Seconds before we started the sky opened and once again we had PERFECT weather for their outdoor engagement that incorporated nature and the backdrops of downtown.  I love it when a plan comes together!  Thanks for the fun you too.  Looking forward to next year with you back in Milwaukee.  Happy Autumn.
